Two of medeConnect’s studies have been shortlisted for the ‘Most Innovative Approach’ category of the 2012 Best of Business Intelligence (BOBI) awards.  These studies each used a new online methodology to provide clear insights.

The first of these studies, ‘Are we mad? Message testing over Christmas!’ was a fast turnaround study that required quantitative and qualitative feedback to be collected and reported within a 3 week period leading up to and over Christmas 2010.  To achieve this speed, we used text-based online focus groups (as well as online quantitative interviews).  These groups allowed the clients to watch the research as it happened and provide real-time input, thus increasing their engagement.  The recommendations from this study supported the development of an extremely successful eDetail that has won many external and internal awards.

The second of these studies, ‘Do you know your PASI?’ explored the use of two disease measures, the PASI and the DLQI in psoriasis in the UK in 2011.  Survey links from several websites and facebook pages were used to generate a large sample of hundreds of interviews with UK moderate to severe psoriasis patients.  The results from this study have been the fundamental part of a PR campaign which has initiated conversations about the needs of UK psoriasis patients within the press, parliament and the NHS.

The countdown is now on to the awards ceremony on the 14th May 2012.
